Parent-flare EM radiation emissions are presently compared with the
injection time histories of one solar-particle event on June 8, 1980, as
well as with those of a group of four homologous events on May 28, 1990.
While in all events electron injection is shown to be nearly simultaneous
with particle acceleration, as indicated by the increase in EM radiation,
the proton injection differs from one event to the next.
The injection-time history of the June 8 event appears to be an example of
particle acceleration in two phases.
In the May 28 events not only electrons but also nuclei are
simultaneously injected at the onset of the EM radiation.
These observations are congruent with a rapid acceleration of ions, as inferred
from the observations of gamma-flares.
